Question about Half Height PCI Slots?

I was looking at a system that said it had half height pci slots. If a system has these where do you buy cards that will fit in the slots? How can you upgrade. Sorry if this is a dumb question I've just never come across this before. Tahnks, Rob

You need to find half-height or low-profile cards. They're not that common for everyday PC's but they are out there.

Yep. Keep in mind there's a lot of hardware that just plain doesn't come in LP format, or doesn't come in nearly the volume, selection, or price. About the only things that are plentiful in LP format are NICs.

You can find some cheap @ss video cards (Radeon 9600SE comes to mind)

Cheapass in performance indeed, but they can actually cost more than a regular form card of the same calibre. Not to mention that a non-SE 9600 isn't available in LP outside of the FireGL workstation flavour.
