So I am reading the the Trial and Death of Socrates.
What is the term for the numbering/naming system.

Like I may have number 25 letter c In refrence to a given passage.

1 followed by a,b,c,d,e .Like a number followed by five paragraphs.Then repeat.There is a term for this.
I want to know the correct way to refrence a passage like if I wanted say " passage c from 34"
