My brand new XFX GeForce 7600GT XXX Edition PCI-E vid card idles at around 54 degrees celcius. Is this ok or should I be worried?

I played about 15-20 minutes of Quake 4 and when I exited and checked the vid card temp it had gone up to around 59 degrees celcius...is this also ok?

Sounds ok to me.

Youd have even more of a shock if you had an X1900 :) Mine hits 85 degrees celcius on full load :)

My Radeon X800XTPE idle runs around 44c and over 76C under full load running DX 8 or Open GL titles, and near the 73C running DX 9 tittles. Seems that the R4X0 generation cards works harder to run DX 8 or Open GL titles.

Video card have a higher temperature tollerance than cpu's. Most of the high end cards from the r4xx generation run between 70-80C at full load using default cooling, so they must have been designed to tollerate those temps.
