Question about Gigabyte S2G mobo

elevated

Senior member
I recently purchased a new system - and whenever I opened up video in Windows Explorer, it would crash and give me the Data Execution Protection error. Asking the seller, eh said he experienced that before (I Never had) and the solution was to increase the voltage to the CPU and/or memory. Then I started on my quest to inrease voltage.

I have a gigabyte GA-M51GM-S2G mobo and the only software that the giga-byte site that supports this mobo is the EasyTune5 software which was already installed on the computer.

Through EasyTune5, the selections for changing the voltage amounts are disabled, even in the advanced view.

I then went to the actual BIOS and nowhere does it allow me to change voltages. I then updated the BIOS to the newest version and it still doesn't have an option for voltage change.

Finally, I downloaded and installed nTUNE, and I see the slider bars for changing the voltages of everything - but yes, as you probably would have guessed, they are disabled.

Any help with this would be great, thanks 🙂
