Question about Gamestop

Kabob

Lifer
Question, I'm contemplating cancelling my Forza Motorsport 3 pre-order with Gamestop and instead getting it from Amazon. Gamestop is way out of my way (hassle to pick up on release day), after tax vs. release day delivery is the same price, and Amazon is giving a $10 gift card with the purchase.

I've got my receipt and the game is completely paid off, is there any penalty for cancelling? Will they give cash or only store credit?

Thanks!

oh and btw kabob, this was for a game i pre-purchased under 30 days prior to launch, so my refund was within the normal return policy date for unopened stuff.

not sure what will happen if you paid for it like back in june.

Gamestop is on my way home from work, so it's worth it for me just to get it from them so I can have it day of 🙂

Right, keep this in mind if it matters to you. From what I've heard you have a better chance of getting it a day later through amazon than if you were to pick it up from GS. It's only a day, but some people really don't want to wait any extra time.

Well it's "on my way" home as well, but a bit off the beaten path.

Stopped by on lunch, the clerk tried SO hard to get me to put it towards another pre-order (even for Uncharter 2...I don't own a PS3!) but in the end he didn't complain and I got cash back in my hand. Plus I can fill out a customer service survey and win a $500 gift card (yippie?).

Pre-ordered it at Amazon at the very tail end of my lunch, should be here on release day.
