Question about fx-53 temps

I posted this in the case/cooling section, but I think that was the wrong place. Since I don't know how to move the post, I am reposting here. Sorry for the duplication...

I've searched the net trying to find typical temperatures for the FX-53 with a Cooler Master Hyper 6 heast sink but have not found anything, yet. I am wondering if anyone out there could give me their typical temps. I listed my specs in my signature, but the pertinent items are that I have two Vantec Stealth fans in a push-pull configuration and have used Arctic Silver 5. (I spread the compound instead of applying just the bead and letting the heat sink spread it. I didn't see the Arctic Silver directions until afterwards.) I have the FSB overclocked to 230 MHz (can't go much higher because of the stupid SATA 1/2 issue ) with a CPU multiplier of 11 to get 2.53 GHz. I use 1.55 volts to the core, and 2.8 volts to the memory. I am using MBM 5 to monitor the temps and I think that I have the latest "official" bios for my MB. My idle cpu temps have been around 42-44 degrees celsius. Full load temps running Prime95 climb to 56 degrees celsius. Last night, after running for a while and then playing HL2 for an hour, temps were 60 degrees celsius. System temps idle around 37-39 degrees celsius but I've seen them as high as 46 degrees celsius after loading. Case temp is usually a consistent 20-21 degrees celsius. The cpu and system temps seem too high to me considering the HS and fans. I have almost all cables sleeved and I tried to push them out of the way for maximum air flow. Does anyone have any similar experience or advice?

P.S. Now that I am getting addicted to overclocking, anyone out there think the Aquagate or Big Water cooling systems would do much better?

Thanks for your help.

I get your exact temperatures.

AMD Athlon 3500+ Newcastle with 1.6v and Thermalright XP-90 (92mm 2500 rpm fan) in a Cooler Master Stacker case.
Idle 37-40 C, load 55-60 C. I am not satisfied.

I'm doing 2.4 with the 3500+ Winchester, temps are still 35 idle, 40 - 45 load, stock volts on everything.

I wouldn't trust the NEO2's readings all that much. I'm watercooling my FX-55 @ 3ghz and core control says my temp is 100-110F but the probe I have mounted on the side of the heatspeader is saying 70-80F

OK...so if I accept the temperatures as marginally acceptable, I have a new question for you expert overclockers. Why can't I get my system Prime95 stable at a measely 2.5 Ghz with fsb at 250? I thought I read everything and set everything correctly. HTT multiplier is set to 4x, the CPU multiplier is set to 10x, and the memory timings have been relaxed to 2.5-3-3-10 at 1T. I have ben using clockgen to overclock since I kept having to clear the cmos when I tried overclocking with the bios (v1.41). I don't have anything on SATA 3 or 4. My system seems to run fine at these settings, but fails Prime95 within 10 minutes. I've tried vcore at 1.5, 1.525, and 1.55 volts, all with the vdiim at 2.8 volts without any luck. One more thing that is very worrisome...I have found that my system will only run Prime95 stable for about 15-16 hours even at stock settings! I've tested the memory with memtest86 and it ran over night without errors. Does this sound like a faulty processor? Thanks for the help in advance.

Hi, first my system:

Thermaltake XASER III Case V2000A
MSI MB K8N NEO2 PLATINUM
AMD Athlon 64 FX-53, 1MB L2 Cache, 939 Pin
ZALMAN CNPS7000B-Cu Copper CPU Cooler
OCZ EL Platinum Revision 2 Dual Channel Kit 1GB(512MBx2) DDR PC-3200
OCZ DDR Volt Booster
Lite-On 16X DVD Dual Drive, Model SOHW-1633S Black
Lite-On Black 52X32X52X16 Combo Drive, Model SOHC-5235K BLACK
Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS Platinum PCI Sound CARD
2 - Western Digital Raptors 74GB 10,000RPM SATA Hard Drive 8MB in Raid "0"
Maxtor Ultra Series Kit 200GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive
eVGA nVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra Video Card
OCZ PowerStream 520W Power Supply With Adjustable
Power Rails With LED Indicators, SATA Connectors
IN-WIN 7-in-1 USB Card Reader BLACK
I/O Magic 1.44MB 3.5 Inch Internal Floppy Drive, Black Bezel

Added: Two Blue LED Fans
A green light that pulses to the bass

Now I am @ FSB or HTT of 260 with Timmings of 2.5 3 3 10 1t using a 3 x Ht multiplier and 10 CPU ratio with 1:1, (Max MEm clock set to 200)

Also have bout same temps as you are reporting in BIOS and MBM5.

I have the ram booster set to 3.1 volts while my ram states 2.9 max it runs better @ 3.1.

Have been playing a few games with no problems and but if you oc you need to have any SATA drives set up on SATA ports 3 and 4 as they are the only ones that are locked.

My Vcore is @ 1.6, (CPU VID @ 1.55 and CPU 3.3% over VID), and AGP is @ 1.6 and @ 67 Mhz.

It rocks!
