Question about FPS

In Counterstrike when I view my FPS, its always right at 59 or 60. It never goes higher than that, and the only time it goes a bit lower is when there is smoke on the screen. My vid card isn't the greatest (Radeon VIVO 64), but that just seems odd to me. I'll be interested to see what my 9800 does when it gets here :-D

Is this because I have a LCD monitor?

Turn V-Sync off, type fps_max 100

I'll bet you there are at least 10 threads on here asking this question or a very similar one. Use the search button.

How do I turn vsync off? Or is vsync a good thing?
