Question about foot skin problem...

The skins on my toes are pretty thick and rough. Thick and tough enough that I can use a nail clipper and start cutting some skin w/o feeling any pain or bleeding. It'll just be dead skin. This seems to be the biggest problem around the tip of the toe where it meets the toenail. Does anybody know what kind of fungal problem this is or how to treat it? And oh yeah I need some over the counter treatment.

They are callouses. The best way to deal with them is to soak your feet in the tub in hot water then scrub the dead skin off with a foot scrubber (you can even get diamond coated ones!). Scrub them down until no skin comes off, soak for a couple more minutes, repeat.
Rub your feet down with foot lotion afterwards.

Or you can go get a pedicure and have someone do it for you.

BTW, there is no fungus involved here...

Totally agree with you. I have what you got, I worked mine up from years of sports but I never got around to sanding it down

i walk at least 6 miles a day and the bottoms of my feet are rough as well. Add lotion to your feet and give yourself a mini-massage. I'm not sure how safe it is, but also try sanding your feet with a medium grit paper (like 200).

Since I moved to NYC, I've learned that I need to take care of my callouses, otherwise blisters form underneath the callous. That's what happens when you walk 7 or 8 miles a day in dress shoes.

As others have said use a foot scraper. I don't suggest lotion I use a cream instead like kerasil, udder butter, or Dr. scholl's foot cream. Put it on at night and put some socks on and your feet will be pretty again in a few weeks.
