Question about flashing ECS K7S5A Bios

I downloaded the bios flash utility and the new bios file from www.ecs.com.tw and followed the directions, but it doesnt work.

It says to run the flash utility .exe from PURE dos, which I did, but I get an error that says "Incorrect File Size" before the utility even starts up!

I mean, I never told it which file to flash, and it gives that error just by trying to run the utility. The web page says it should load a program and then ask for the BIOS update file, but I dont get that far.

Any ideas?

I just flashed my ecs the other day. I got the amiflash utility and the .rom file. Put them on a floppy along with DrDos 7.x fromhere.

It went fine. Just remeber to get the correct .rom file if you have the on-board LAN. Seems I heard soem people accidently flashed their board with the wrong .rom.

Well, it finally worked.

It required me booting into Windows ME instead of XP, and then making a new DrDos Boot disk, and copying the flash utility and .rom file to a disk again from within ME.

Also, the directions on the site arent exactly right either. The instructions say to simply run the flash util and then a program will load, when in reality all you have to do is type the following at the dos prompt:

A:> animf329 filename.rom

And that works...

Thanks for your help guys...
