I need a new hat and I was looking around at some online stores for one. Usually when I get a fitted hat my size is 7 1/4 but the store I want to buy from only has the hat I want in 7 3/8. Using the sizing scale they have it says that 7 1/4 = 22 3/4 inches and 7 3/8 = 24 1/8 inches . Im just wondering if I get the slightly bigger hat if it will seem too big or not that bad. I think it will be OK but I just want to hear a second opinion.

1/8 of an inch actually makes quite a difference. Unless you like tucking your ears underneath your hat, I suggest you stick with the size of hat you regularly wear.

One other option is to throw the hat in the washer. You can usually shrink it one size by doing that.
