Question about Final Cut Express

Hi,

When I purchased my G4, it came with Final Cut Express already installed. The thing is, I don't know if it's a legit copy of FCE or not. I didn't get the FCE cd with the original box or anything.

Apple sells the upgrade to FCE HD for $99. The full install of FCE HD is $299. My question is, should I purchase the upgrade to FCE HD or should I purchase the full install? I don't like the idea that the FCE installed on my computer may be stolen. I like all of my software to be legit.

Any thoughts? 🙂

BTW, I posted in Software and got no replies.
 
Ask the question at MacNN.com. You'll get more answers there, well, at least until a Mac forum shows up at AT. Hint, hint. 😉 Oh, and wrong forum.

BTW, some educational Macs will come FCE pre-installed.
 
I never liked MacNN. And I would say that everything Mac would fall under the categories already listed. I know this is the wrong forum, but I got no reply in Software, and this forum moves a little faster. 🙂

My G4 is kind of old. It's the 400mhz Sawtooth model, and I don't think Apple had FCE at the moment. At least I don't think they did. 😕
