Okay, I placed an order a couple days ago and am expecting it to be delivered tomorrow sometime during the day while I'm not home. Do they require you to sign off the shipment? Last time UPS delivered an Amazon thing to my house I didn't have to sign for it. I've never had FedEx though.

Should I leave a signed note just in case?
 
If you tape a signed note to your door authorizing them to leave it, they'll put it on your doorstep. They can also put a waiver on file for your address that will apply to future packages.
