Question about fan monitoring

I have a fan controller but would also like to monitor the speeds. I would like to know if there is anyway to do this? I will not have anything hooked directly to the motherboard. Is there anyway to y it and connect it to the mobod for monitoring? My fan controller is just a control with no readout.
 
No. If I don't like the controller it was only 25 bucks so I won't be out too much. It had high reviews.

Would a splitter of some sort work? Just so the mobod would somehow see the fan speed and I would be able to monitor it from that.
