Question about fan connector

My motherboard has a four pin cpu fan plug on it and the Zalman 9700 that I'm considering buying has a three pin . My question is will it work or do I need an adapter? If so could you recommend a place to buy one. Thanks

Not required. The 4th pin is for PWM - pulse width modulation. Fan control on a PC unfortunately is not linear in fashion. Using PWM, it should make SW fan control more linear.

The first three pins of the mobo connector are the same as any other - with the guide tab there you shouldn't be able to connect your fan wrong without forcing...
