I just started using facebook like 2 days ago.

I've been adding people and people have been adding me to my friends list. Some people post stuff to my 'wall'. When i respond to them, do they see that? Or do they have to go to my page to see it?

I got a question too... friend A comments on their friend's pic (not a mutual friend)... allowing you to click on the pic to see it and their comment. But why would it allow you to see the rest of the same album as well? I mean I don't mind, but was wondering what the thought was behind that. It basically exposes all your pics to anyone who comments on them... their friends.

yeah. cause fb is dumb.

another dumb thing is you can see someone has for example 250 friends, then you click that link and it says they have 230 or so friends because 20 of them hide themselves.

If you can only "see" 230 it should only say 230 initially.

you can change that setting... so only people on your friend list can see the album IIRC

Thing is, that count would be different for everyone who views that person's friends, depending on whether THEY are friends with any of the "hidden" people. That would increase the complexity (and execution time, and memory usage) of the query that gets that count. Also, that information is likely cached so they don't have to hit the DB every time it is displayed, but having a different count for each of that person's friends would eliminate much of the benefit of that. And really, there's not much benefit to displaying the lower number. 1. It's inaccurate. 2. The difference between the lower and the higher number isn't going to help you invade the privacy of the people who want to be hidden.

i've set it to friends only... I wonder if that's true then... that people would be stuck on that 1 pic and can't navigate through my album. Because I've never had trouble navigating through others'.

That's just because most people leave their settings as default, which is as open as possible.

Going through everyone's photos is addictive. It's quite surreal having such a window to the world.

Originally, someone would post something on your wall and if it warranted a response, you would post on their wall with a reply.

Recently however, FB has implemented a "comment" function on any post so now if someone posts something on your wall, you can either comment directly on that wall post, or do the traditional way and reply on their wall.
