Question about EVGA's 680 product line

Hi,
I was looking to get a new gtx680 and had decided that EVGA is most likely going to be the manufacturer to go with. I've had a really good experience with them in the past with my old 8800 gtx and am looking to move forward with the company.

The question that I have is that I can't distinguish between some of the cards in their product line. If you do a comparison of all of their 680's, there seems to be no difference between the 680 FTW, 680 SC Signature, and 680 SC Signature with backplate. They all have 1084 core clock, 1150 boost, and 6208 mem clock speeds. However, one is 569.99, one is 549.99, and one is 529.99.

Does anyone know the difference between these cards? I can't figure out what it is :/

Thank you for your help with this :)

I too share this question, though mine extends to XFX as well. Newegg has(d) some XFX cards that were all the same except some were zafV and some were zafB, their product numbers that is. Whats the difference?

Here you can see the difference.

Signature seems to have a 5 phase vrm instead of the reference 4
Signature 2 also has a 8+6pin power connectors instead of 6+6
FTW probably has a entirely custom pcb with 8 phase vrm, 8+6pin power connectors and also vapor chambor cooling

I am not sure why you need those extra phases if you can´t change the voltage, I believe the voltage is locked on the FTW edition but will be unlocked on the Classified card, I am not sure though.

The extra phases help with clean power delivery so when it demands more watts from the power supply and you raise the tdp limit with an overclock it doesn't starve for power.

The gtx 670 ftw edition has the same pcb and vapor chamber heatsink as the gtx 680 ftw. They share those common components.

whoa that is NOT correct. the gtx670 ftw has nothing but the reference gtx680 cooler and pcb.

Someone mentioned it does on guru3d so i only repeated that. I honestly have not seen it side by side so i dunno.

Anyway...this was about the 680 and we covered the bases.

well they are 100% wrong and that needed to be cleared up. if not someone could see your post and pass on that misinformation like you did. ;)

so just to be clear the gtx670 ftw has the reference 680 pcb, cooler and uses the evga high flow bracket. the gtx680 ftw has a different pcb with 8 phase power, 8/6 pin, vapor chamber cooler and high flow bracket.
