Question about erasing CDRWs

Is there a difference between quick erase and thorough erase? If you use quick erase, does that mean the data can be somehow recovered, whereas if you use thorough the data is permanently erased and cannot be recovered? Just curious.

I think the quick erase function erases just the table of contents portion of the disk, so the rest of it becomes available to be written over and shows up as being empty. WHereas the full erase runs the writting laser over then entire disk and erases the data, by changing the full disk. beginning to end.
