question about ECC ddr RAM,. will it o/c better or worse?

I can get a hold of 256 MB of ECC Crucial DDR PC1600 ram for $100 shipped

I would get normal ram non-ecc, but its outta stock

the question is, will ECC work just the same? can i disable it? and if/when i do, will it overclock better or worse?

I don't think it matters, but there is a small performance hit with ECC, I'd go with non-ecc if I were you.
