Anyone know about problems running 2 DVD programs on same PC? Of course, I would only use them one at a time, I already have
ATi DVD player 6.1 that comes with MMC/AIW 128pro/32mb. I also want to install Power DVD 3.0, for full-screen watching, etc. Any known
issues? TIA

I had problems running ATi's player (4.1) on the same system where PowerDVD 2.55 was installed. As in, the ATi player wouldn't work.

Just curious, why have 2 players?

The ATi DVD player installed as package with MMCenter (includes TV tuner, etc) & I'm not sure I can uninstall it seperately. Tho, if it stops workin & causes no other problems, that would be okay. Any ideas?

ATi has a (relatively) new version of MMC (7.1) available to download from their website. Not sure if it includes all the TV tuner stuff, I only have a VIVO card (no tuner), but everything works fine for me, and the DVD player is a separate install.

I don't think PowerDVD takes advantage of the hardware DVD acceleration built into your ATi card, is there a reason why you don't want to use ATi's player alone?

PowerDVD 3.0 does take advantage of the hardware DVD acceleration in my ATi vidcard.

The main thing I have against the ATi DVD player is that it will not show most wide-screen movies in full screen mode & PowerDVD will. Guess I want more Video bandwidth for my 17" monitor, I watch TV movies in full-screen, then most DVD movies have those black bands top & bottom. Some of the newer DVDs do have both aspect-ratio choices, but most older movies do not. PowerDVD stretches em all no matter what...
