Question about DVD +RW drives and disc

I just picked up one of those $129 DVD +R/RW drives at Staples today. I was looking for some media and I found a good deal on Verbatim (30 disk for $45.99 at Sams) The only thing was that the disc are 1-2.4x rated. Is there any chance these will burn at the 4x that the burner will do? If not i'll end up picking up the Fuji 50pk for $74.99 at Best Buy, they had a ton of them.
