Come on, you guys. You've just got to learn to read between the lines a bit.
Back to the first question, NO you cannot get dvd video from a discman, not even with some evil ghetto modding.;)

sorry. i thought i cancel this one. here is an example of what could happen to late, late late night post. lol

i was having problem with my dvd rom. its poineer 10x dvd rom. when i do a dvd rip, smartripper only show
my dvd speed at 1.8x. is that a normal speed? if its not normal and too slow, what dvd-rom can help
me increase dvd-ripping time.

post with nothing generate 6 reply, post with something should have more , right? ;) hehe

I'm going to say "get a new DVD-ROM." Some of them have rip speed limitations and it sounds like that Pioneer 10X you have is one of them. The newer pioneers are not supposed to have this limitation and neither does the Lite-On 16X. Avoid the Toshiba 16X as it has a similar rip limitation.

how about his drive " Pioneer 10X DVD SCSI PIONEER 40X CD-ROM DRIVE DVD-304S/305S "

i have u2w scsi system so i perfer a scsi dvd drive. have anyone have any experience on this drive?
does it have good ripping speed? 2.0x max sure sux

Go with the Liteon 16x/48x if you can get it - very fast ripper.
