Question about DVD-R

I'm having trouble finding good quality dvd media.

i know that ritek and ty were good brands, but i dont hear many good things about riteks 16x media.

i currently use an nec 3550a, and all the dvd+r media ive tried to make movie backups of, the movie ends up skipping, going back to the beginning of the movie, and weird things like that.

i do have the latest firmware too. what can you recommend for good quality media?

for DVD+R media I recommend Verbatim 16x. I have used it in the 3550 and it works great.

I've got Memorex DVD-R/+R and haven't had any of the problems you've been describing. However, I have been having some problems with out of sync audio, which I believe is because of how I'm encoding.
