question about dvd player

this dvd player only has the dolby digital logo on it. it has coaxial and optical outputs. when i select a dts track in a movie the analog outputs output nothing. would the coax and optical outputs still pass the dts stream or no?

The coax (RCA) or optical (TOSLINK) on a DVD is basically intended to stream out AC3/DTS info digitally.

The best way to be sure is to load up google/philips.com, run a search and look for the complete spec...

so it don't do DTS. how many DVD's are just DTS? most i seen do both DTS and Dolby digital.

But i agree. i baught a DVD player that did both.

4493 have dts.
yes most do both but:
* a) this is just a curiosity
* b) supposedly dts sounds better
