I'm thinking about getting a dual setup (for the hell of it). I saw the Tyan Tiger MP S2460, is that a nice board? As for CPUs, do I need a special AMD CPU or can I just buy another 1ghz Bird and run that? Thanks for any help.
 
Although most/all AMD socket A CPUs seem to work in a dual configuration (even mixing and matching different speeds and families), AMD only certified the Athlon MP chips for multi-processing.

I like mine. I'm not sure when any more AMD dually boards will be out (other than Tyan's).

Pretty soon I am going to upgrade to some Athlon MP chips (after one more price cut), but the T-birds have been working good. I want/need SSE support for some apps. I run. I am curious how much faster they will run with the MP's.
