I initially had some Corsair XMS sticks (2x512) but have since purchased 1 value stick of 512 and then another value stick of 512 just recently. I put them all in and the system boots and seems to work just fine. I'm just wondering if I'm taking a performance hit since the ram are of different types. Is there anything I need ot do to make sure that they are running in Dual Channel?

From what I remember these systems run much faster with Dual Channel on than with it off.

Only some NForce 2 (AMD) motherboards can run Dual Channel with 3 sticks. That doesn't mean that no Intel mother boards can, but I've never heard of one.

I guess if you sync up the timings you can, but it is always recommended to have matched pairs. But yes, I am pretty sure you can.
