Question about Dual Channel DDR2 RAM

Hi,
Concerning Dual Channel and DDR2 RAM:
is Dual Channel a feature of the mobo chipset only or do the RAM DIMMs have to be Dual Channel enabled also?
I´m asking because i thought it was a mobo chipset feature only, but i saw some DIMM offers stating explicitly "Dual Channel" or "Single Channel".
thanks

Dual channel is a function supported by the MB chipset.
Some memory manufacturers hock their wares as "Dual Channel" to sell them.
Basically, if your buy memory sticks that are twins, they will run in dual channel mode.

It's similar to HD RAID arrays, in that you want duplicate units paired up together.
