Question about DSL (SBC) installation

i have a jack in my living room and bedroom, would either jack work with my dsl modem once service has been activated?

Plug it in anywhere and use the filters on all the phones. The modem goes straight to the jack.

are they going to provide me these filters with my installation kit? any tips i should know beforehand?

Yes, SBC will provide you will a handful of those filters since they anticipate customers having a phone in each room with DSL access.

Finally, you don't need to install the software SBC has on a CD they will send to you. There should be plenty of websites like this one that I used to get registered and start using my DSL connection.

I'd suggest reading through that and perhaps other sites with similar information to make sure that you don't make any mistakes along the way. I think when I did the process the first time, I was registered and my DSL worked, but I didn't get the goodies from Yahoo! that came with the DSL service. Only when I went through the process again _and_ went further did I get the other Yahoo! e-mail, Launchcast Plus, etc.
