Question about drug test.....

Guys,

I have a pre-employment drug screening and i was wondering about the medicine i took 3 days ago. Well, lets say i took it for 3 days. I took maybe less than a tablespoon of the medicine. Its Tussin X, and i took it due to a strep throat my brother had, and i eventually caught.

Question is, Will this pop up in the test ? I dont do any drugs whatsoever, but i am curious. I have till December 7 to take the test.

The urine test is being done by labcorp. That is all i know.

If it's prescription and you have a prescription for it, obviously you'll be fine. If it's over the counter and you'll be fine. Why would you worry about it unless you've done something that would get you in trouble?
 
i just read the email. I have to do it by the 3rd. The last time i took the medicine was last night (sunday night)

3rd is Monday. I will probably do this test on Thursday or Friday.
 
Honestly, if you just heavily hydrated with water you could take the test tonight after peeing a few times.
 
If you're NOT a regular user of opiates, you'll pass a urine test. It takes 48-72 hours to clear out of your system.

Someone using opiates long-term or heavily is a little longer timeframe.
 
yeah i dont take them on a regular basis....pretty much a one time thing. Took the medicine from the earliest being Friday till Sunday night. No more after that.
 
My friend works at a drug screening company. Employment drug tests are very basic and check for 10 main things (I don't remember what all they are) and you won't fail on a very minute reading of any of them.
 
well im hoping that its minute...im just freaking out. I will take this thing either Thursday or Friday. I might just start drinking way more water now to flush whatever i have out

Yea, they have cutoff levels established by a gov. agency. The tests can be 3, 5, or 10 panel test depending on what the employer asks for, ours used to be a 10 panel test but now they've cut it back to the 5 panel. They also check for specimen integrity, (PH, gravity, creatine) to make sure it's urine and it hasn't been adulterated with anything (changes PH)..
 
You took hydrocodone. It's an opiate. You should assume they will test for it. If you give yourself 3 days to flush it out of your system before the test you should be fine.

If they detect it in your pee and you don't have a prescription you won't get the job and the employer will be pissed that you wasted their time and money. I hope your "sore throat" gets better soon.

Which is even more retarded. I mean you really want to test for something that over 80% of adult Americans admit to having done before? We should start masturbation testing before hiring since it is equally asinine.
