Do you have to pay to play Dreamcast games online?

If you have the broadband adaptor, can you connect it to your cable internet and play? Or do I have to pay money to Sega so I can use their SegaNET service along with my normal @HOME internet??

Thanks.

You can use any ISP to play DC games online, or use sega's ISP if you wish. They are currently making a Ethernet adapter for DC. Quake 3 supposedly supports it.

Man you guys are fast!

Thanks for the info! So the online gaming is free as long as I have internet access?

Cool..I heard the broadband adaptor is already released? I could be wrong though.

Not sure on that Broadband adapter, but it could be here by christmas. If you have a dialup ISP (or want to ICQ me) you can get online and gaming with no fees whatsoever.

Yeah, NetZero will work fine (as will any other ISP) ... NetZero just takes a little cracking because the Dreamcast doesn't use DUN.

EDIT

RE: The broadband adapter-

According to EBWORLD.com, 1/3/2001

And it's $60...yikes. Might want to see what the third party companies will have to offer.
