26 or 28 I think. Don't worry, there will be no draft. The armed forces do not want a draft. They prefer volunteer soldiers who want to be there.

Yes. Unless we get into a war with China, you won't have to worry about the draft.

Oh, I'm not at all worried. Hell, even if I was drafted, a guy with my background wouldny be sent to combat.
I'd be in the rear with the gear! HUU!!

I just thought it was 25 for some reason.

That's right. 18-25 for Selective Service. They drafted a little older back in WWII. Can't remember what the max age was for Vietnam but I think some older than 25 got drafted.

Us going to war with China is extremely remote anytime soon. First of all, China, despite all their saber rattling, has never seriously consider invading Taiwan. They know it's sucide for their navy to even try to land troops in Taiwan, and anything NBC attacks will turn Beijing into a giant crater. They have nothing to gain by getting into a shooting war with US.
Although, if the Chinese leadership were daring enough and willing to sacrifice enough of their troops, they would annouce "Humanitarian" operations in North Korea as soon as US is engaged in Iraq. That will get them within striking distance of US military bases with their massive numbers (Japan wouldn't be that hard to hit if they manage to take over all of South Korea), quite easily shifting the balance of power in Asia enough that they can compete with the US as a worldpower within decades. Then you would have to be worried.

If the draft ever get reinstated, I would seriously doubt they give a rat's behind about your background ;)

You might be drafted if we take on N Korea and Irag. We might need a little help with Turkey too.

Sheesh, I considered myself young before.

Now I feel old because I'm too old to be drafted.:(

Did R. Lee ever do any other movie after that? I know he was in Saving Silverman and is doing Mail Call.

Yeah, he did a bunch of movies. Here's his
movie history. You wouldn't recognize him in most roles because he doesn't look anything like he does on Mail Call or Full Metal Jacket....has more hair and a mustache more often that not.

So, even 25 year olds can get drafted? So, 26 is the safe age?

And considering I have bnearly 3 years telecomm experience plus a BS, I think i WOULD be in the rear with the gear ;) Doing comm stuff
