I got two W2 forms, one from a job I was at for like a month in January and then the other for the job I'm at now. Now the question is, I filed the W2 form with the job I'm at now and got the money back. I received a W2 form like 3 weeks later but and I made less then like $1500 from that job in January. Do I have to file a return for that? Or do I have to fill out a 1040X form and send that in?

You already entered questions in the tax thread.

Why create a thread outside, when you know not to.

And why would you not keep track of what paperwork you expect to recieve. You should know what jobs you rworked at during the previous year.

Why didn't you wait until you had both W2's before filing?

If you received 1500 in January then you wouldn't have received a w-2 for it?

Or do you mean january 07

I think he mean Jan of 2007.

And yes you will have to file an amended return.

I have all my items for taxes and I still won't file yet, just to make sure.

Yea, you definitely want to amend your return. The fines afterwards if you don't, and if they find out, are just not worth it.

Didn't you already ask this in the tax thread?

You NEED to report ALL income you make for the year whether it's W2 or not.

The only exemption you get is if it's COMBINED total is under X dollars.

I cannot believe the stupidity of some people that think they can make $50k from one job and then do a bunch of side jobs for under $8k each and think they do not have to report any of those lesser jobs.
