I have to enable DMZ with my iPad 2 in order to receive push notifications from messenger clients. However, Only one device can be on DMZ and both my brother and I have iPads now. Is there anyway I can port forward ALL ports so that it essentially acts as another DMZ zone? I tried to port forward only 5223 (needed for Apple Push Notification Service) but it didn't work so I want to unblock ALL ports. Thanks.

You don`t have to put it into a DMZ...just do some port forwarding...you can do port ranges if you need more than one port. If it didn`t work, then check how it`s configured, or do a virtual server instead. What router are you working with?

I'm using a DLINK DIR-601. I've gone under the port forwarding section and enabled port 5223 with the TCP setting. I've also tried to forward all ports 1-65223 with no luck. I'm suspecting my router is just crap, which is why I can't get push notifications.

are you forwarding the port to a specific IP? I am sure you cant just forward a port to an IP Range...

Yup! I'm forwarding the port to my Ipad 2 IP Address and still no luck. I'm starting to conclude that my cheap D-link router is the cause of my woes. I'll probably upgrade my router to something higher end. Any suggestions?
