Question about DMA

I remember a while back with win 95 and the dma checkbox there was a way to tell if it was actually working. You could look at the drive type in device mananger (46 or 47), and one of them was dma, and one of them wasnt. You could then fix it by adding a few lines in an ini file. Now that you all know what im talking about...which one is dma? Mine are on 47 right now....is that dma on or off?
