question about Dell Vostro desktops

Last time I bought a dell, more than two years ago, I bought a Dimension 3000, the low end of Dell at the time. Among other things, like lack of expansion slots, etc. The case/power supply fans were VERY load. Most of their better machines were whisper quiet. Now I'm looking at Dell again. There is the Vostro series and the low end Inspirons. Are there any I should stay away from if I want a quiet system. I will not be looking at systems above $1000. (Desktops only)
