Question about Dell PC Restore

my dad recently got a dell laptop and wanted me to setup everything up for him. normally i would install the operating system, configure everything and make a ghost image with a bootcd i have. however i noticed Dell's PC Restore utility which can boot and restore the original Windows install from a hidden partition without the need for a boot cd. so im just wondering if anybody can give me some advice (tutorial site, software needed, etc.) on how i could implement something like that but using my own partition image.
