It has a heat sink, then a plastic covering and a fan that is right on the back of the case, it's basically a wind tunnel. The fan stopped working, it's a P4 inside. Can I just buy a heat sink made for the chipset and it will fit on or do I have to buy a replacement fan that is just like the one that is in there now?

Dell HSF assemblies are unique - custom made for them. You can probably replace the fan, but not the heatsink.

I think you would just be able to replace the fan but it has these rubber nubbin things holding it in and I don't know how you are supposed to remove the fan without breaking them.
