Well, I ordered an Inspiron 8500 from dell SB on the 15th of October, but recieved an order confirmation 31st October.

The system shipped on the 3rd of November...

I am yet to recieve the system. I have two questions

1) Until when can i return the system under the 30 day return policy?
a) 30 days from Invoice date .. thats what the website says.. that means 15 NOV?? Since i ordered on 15th Oct?
b) 30 days from shipping date... the warranty starts expiring from the shipping date....
c) 30 days from date of delivery??

2) Will i get my money credited back to my credit card if i do decide to return it? The dell website says it gets credited to my Dell account. Then i request them for a check and the send me back the check?? How much time does this entire process take after the system has reached them?

The return policy is from the invoice date. If you paid with a CC, you will receive credit back within 14 days after they receive the return.

Make sure you use FedEx, UPS, or AE to send your package. DON'T SEND IT PRIORITY MAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ship date = invoice date in the vast majority of cases.

It's 30 days from the INVOICE DATE not the order date, not the ship date but the INVOICE DATE which you can find here (search by either your e-mail address or order number).

You may have to pay a 15% restocking fee (maybe that only applies to S&P)?

Also you may have to pay for return shipping and DO NOT SHIP VIA USPS, use Airborne Express, UPS or FedEx.

Sometimes if you call, threaten to return your merchandise they offer you a concession (or retention), they give you a partial refund if you agree to keep it and not return it.
