Question about dead notebook LCD pixels

Hey guys, I just got my new laptop, and it has a perfect screen. I have heard other people complain about dead pixels on laptops, and I have seen them in person before...they look horrible sometimes. If my laptop has no dead pixels now, will it always have no dead pixels, or do pixels sometimes go bad after time? Any response is appreciated(within reason ;)), thanks!

I'm sure I'd be able to spot a dead pixel if I ever saw one, but I haven't. I've owned my Dell Inspiron 3500 laptop since September of 1999, and the screen hasn't changed a bit; still looks great. I'm no expert though (this is my only experience with an LCD screen), just thought I'd chime in.

Pixels that are operational rarely fail individually, so yes you lucked out, though the percentage of lucky people is going up dramatically due to new manufacturing processes and quality controls.

And really Snyder, watch the 'tude, it's not like this was a thread where you really needed help in any critical fashion. If someone's system was coming apart at the seams, I (and I imagine most people) could understand and forgive a little stress, but really now.
