Question about DDr2 memory speeds

Is there a noticeable improvement between say 667MHz and 800MHz memory? I currently have 2 x 1GB 800MHz but was thinking of just getting something like This

Apparently my board does not like 4 x 1GB modules and can not run them at 800MHz anyway... but I am just wondering if there is a noticeable difference in performance between the speeds?

The pc is mostly used for gaming, but I suppose at some point will be getting round to doing development work again.

It depends, I think that is the best answer you will get. If your cpu only has a 667 FSB then you arn't going to see any difference between the two. When over clocking you will see a difference. (though some 667 Memory goes to the same speed as 800 memory so really when you get 800 memory you are only garenteed to go up to 800 speeds.)

you mean 333 MHz FSB you wouldn't see a difference...up above that you would

What they said. Faster memory realistically only matters if you are overclocking, and 667 is plenty for most casual overclockers.
