Question about DDR Memory Speeds

Is it OK to put in lets say DDR 3200 (400Mhz) into a motherboard setup that calls for DDR 2100 running at 266Mhz. I'm currently looking to build my first system since to my Intel 486 days of High School. I'd like to buy DDR 3200 and a mobo now and then reuse the memory when Intel releases its 800Mhz FSB Processor and Dual Channel 3200 DDR chipset. I wasn't sure if the DDR 3200 would just run at 266Mhz but be able to run at a faster speed (400Mhz) when called upon.

It'll work fine, as a rule of thumb computer parts can always run slower. Ram can, and maybe with better timings even, cas2.5 pc3200 ram can usually run cas2 @ pc2700 (and lower of course)
