Question about crdit card application

I applied for a credit card, but before they will approve me thay need me to send them proof of residence (I moved recently). All of the utilities are in my roommates name so I'm going to send them a copy of my bank statement, which was on their list of acceptable things.

My question is, should I black out important information, such as the account number and balance, or just send them an unaltered copy? Or perhaps I'm just being paranoid?
 
The credit card company is not going to steal your identity. Don't worry about it. Just make sure you send it in a secure envelope that cannot be seen through.
 
It is none of their business what you pay on utilities or what you account balance is. Sheesh! You are paying them, they arent giving you anything for free.

Block out everything but the address.
I hate credit card companies!!
