Question about Craigslist scammer

Got an email that started out like most of the scams any time I post something...'is item still available, I really would love to buy it soon', blah blah. Asking my to ship it, even though my listing said no shipping. And asked if I was an individual seller or a "WHOLE SALES MAN". (vs. a half sales man? haha). First email in all caps, 2nd in all lowercase.

Part of first email header:
Received: from [192.116.99.18] by web37603.mail.mud.yahoo.com via HTTP; Mon, 27 Feb 2006 03:34:00 PST
Country: [Multi-Regional]
City: Unknown

I guess because it was sent through Craigslist.

Part of 2nd email header:
Received: from [82.128.1.58] by web37601.mail.mud.yahoo.com via HTTP; Mon, 27 Feb 2006 12:35:45 PST

IP shows to be in Nigeria.

But the email says:
i live in WA this sounds good and here is my number 2069841169 you can give me a call .if you like i can carry out the payment all i need is your name and address to make the payment via usps money order.
thanks

People say it's safe to accept a MO is it's a USPS MO. How can this be a scam? Are they
sending fake USPS MO's now too?
And what do you think that phone # is for? I don't have long distance service. Anyone live in WA (Seattle, right?)?
Searching that phone #, I found this.

I was just curious how they can fake USPS MO's, since people on here in the recent past have said as long as the MO is a USPS MO, you don't have anything to worry about. Maybe just meaning that if it's fake, USPS knows it right off when you try to cash it. Whereas a bank will just cash any MO and charge you back later if it's fake.

Just note that I've read of people being arrested for trying to cash a fake USPS MO at a postal station. Talk about a twisted system. Use extreme caution if you aren't already familiar with what postal MO's look and feel like.

My friend got 3 MO's for 600 each for an item that he was selling for 500. The whole theme of the scam is this: Buyer sends way too much money, asks for money back. Seller has either A. tried to cash them and they were fake, or b. still has them. MO can't be sent back, so the seller has to send the money back alternative means, then goes to cash, and finds out they are fake. So the buyer gets $$ and seller gets shafted.

I say go for it, but make sure you don't ship right away, get teh MO's, take them to PO, and get them checked. If fake, it's a federal offense.

The PO will be very very happy to investigate fraud MOs.

There have been reported forged USPS checks appearing, although much less risk than many others...

Actually, there are more htan a few forged USPS MO's out there.......along with stolen ones. Every time I've gone to the good ole PO to cash a USPS MO, they pull out a thick book and check the serial no. against what's in the book. The book is many, many pages long with whole ranges of serial numbers that are tainted.

That number is associated with this company. As I suspected, they offer a callback service and virtual phone numbers. The scammer is probably doing this to appear as if they reside in Washington.
