Exactly what Flexcore said, above. It's the MB/chipset that supports USB 3.0; CPU's got nothing to do w/it.
I'm excited about USB 3.0! With USB as the de facto connection standard for 95% of the peripherals out there, it will be great once all those peripherals are operating at USB 3.0 speeds. I could see it replacing Firewire for audio/video applications as well. Granted, there's currently a huge amount of FW devices out there, but as they get old and break, maybe the new ones will have USB 3.0 connectivity.
