Question about CPU temps with xp-90 hs

Over the past few weeks I've been working to make my PC as close to silent as possible. My current setup is:

Lian Li V1000B
AMD 3500+ venice core
XP-90 w/ 100mm scythe fan @ 1200rpm
4 variable speed 120mm globalwin fans running silently

I've been looking at other temps of xp-90's on a64 chips, and I'm seeing temps around 26 at idle. My system idles at 32C and increases to 40C load after running Prime95 for an hour. I find it strange that the reviews that get a64's idling at 26C with the xp-90 go up to around 45C or 50C...the range is nearly twice what mine is.

I have no problem with these temps, but I noticed that even when I turned up all my fans to ful that my cpu won't go below 31C at idle. I'm wondering if perhaps I should reapply the AS5 to the heatsink. The xp-90 doesn't feel the least bit warm when I touch it, which seems a little odd.

I'm just curious what I should be expecting here.

What's your ambient (room) temperature?

An idle temperature of 26C is hard to achieve with air cooling, short of a really cold room or winter time conditions. Having 31C at idle and 40C at load are excellent and I would say are more in line with the norm.
