Question about CPU Temp

Ok i know im running a 478 pin p4 3.0 Im trying to find out what temperature range the CPU itself should be in, and what the system temp range should be in, and on Intels website, all I can find is what I believe is the system's temp range. anyone know?

Mine runs warm at about 55c with the stock Intel copper heatsink. But my case has no extra fans and I use an rpm adjuster to lower the heatsink speed.

well heres my deal, im running it on an msi and i got the MSI corecenter program up, it says cpu temp is about 57-58 but it has gone up as high as 85, is that bad or normal, ive got a cpue fan and one case fan plus the fan on my Graphics card

I should mention that it gets that high when im playing games, currently Call of Duty and Dungeon Siege 2
