question about CPU core...

Why don't the companies make the core larger? Wouldn't a larger core allow for better heat dissepation .. -> higher clocks?

And no, the size of the die has nothing to do with the speed that its clocked at. That's determined by the lithography process, the architecture of the CPU, and the materials used.

St4rcutter: he is probably thinking at a heatspreader as the P4-s have and not the core itself...
