question about cooling my system

I bought an AMD 1.4Ghz barebones system and I've heard people say how hot it can get. The system already comes with a heatsink/fan (I haven't gotten the system so I don't know the quality) but I was wondering if a case fan would be needed? Does a case fan help the cpu at all? I will have a 64meg video card, dvd, and cdrw in the system so should I get it, and if so which one is quiet and reasonable price? Thanks. 😕

Most of the cases have slots for 2 case fans, use them both. Also you can find some heatsink fan combos that are much better than the one that comes with the chip. There are also fabs that take up one of the bays in your systme but will cool it well (unfortunately they tend to be a little loud).

a cpu fan takes whatever air is in the case and blows it over the cpu heatsink. if your case air is warm/hot then it's not effectively cooling the cpu. therefore, case fans are of the utmost importance in order to bring cool air into your box

EDIT: well now, that was a double post if i've ever seen one. sorry. 🙂
