You shouldn't, but you can.

I've slept with contacts in for 3 days straight... it hurt like hell to peel them off my eyes on the third day, but I could see fine (had to keep rewetting).

I knew someone who didn't take their contacts off for like 2 years.

i used to wear my NON 24x7 contacts, 24x7x14+days. never had a problem.

now i just got some of those 24x7 contacts and although no difference in feeling, it should keep my eyes from getting infected, or swelling a lil (idk sum like cornea swelling)

and you can sleep with them in for 1 or 2 hours, dont worry bout that.

30 minutes is nothing.. I used to go weeks without taking them out.

BTW, i don't anymore, and I don't recommend sleeping in them for more than an hour or two, for just a nap.

30 mins you'll be fine tho.

Just make sure you use drops before and after when you take naps....sometimes you may not have to.

Im supposed to take mine out every night before bed. Last time I took them out was over 2 weeks ago. You get a bit more of that eye goop in the corners when you wake up, and your vision is fuzzy until you either put drops in or wait for your eyes to moisten up on their own, but otherwise I've had no problems.

Talk to your optom. Supposedly keeps your eyes from getting oxygen or something from the air and so makes your irises expand and so permanently screwing up your eyes. Mabe I'm just talking out of my ass, but you should consult a real eye guy.

I usually wear mine for about a month or two straight without taking them out unless they bother me for some reason. They rarely bother me unless I'm really tired and my eyes dry out. They never hurt and my eyes haven't gotten any worse.

Maybe I'm just lucky. :)

You aren't. My eyes werent getting enough oxygen, and I had blood vessels creeping towards my corneas. Needless to say, this was enough to get me to NOT sleep in mine WHATSOEVER.

dat, the night/day ones still don't work properly. Your eye needs a break from contact usage....even my dr. said the same thing. They don't recommend them to anyone. I have moved to monthly contacts and my eyes feel and look a lot better.

sleeping with your contacts in is not good for the health of your eyes since they block oxygen flow in and keep dirt in.

You throw them away after a month(they last about 2 months really though), but you still take them out every night. My contacts are $35 for a 6 month supply.

I toss mine every month too. There supposed to be bi-weekly contacts, but once there in I don't feel them so I forget about them. I stretched a 6 month supply 18 months once. My opto wasn't too happy with me.

You can sleep in them. I don't usually sleep with mine in, though. Not for any extended period of time, anyway. If I'm just laying down for an hour, then I don't bother taking them out, but any longer than that and I do take them out.

I wear extended wear ones and try to take them out once a week, but usually forget and often go about 2 weeks before taking them out. You are supposed to pitch them after 2 weeks and use a new pair, but I usually go 4 weeks before changing to a new pair.

Focus Night & Day lenses let you wear them for 30 days straight (at least according to them). Here's a link from one place selling them, probably a lot cheaper places, this was just the first that popped up on google.

I forget where I order my lenses from. I do it from some Canadian retailer as you don't need a prescription to get them. U.S. ones are supposed to check your prescription first. My eyes haven't changed in ages and can't justify spending $60 or whatever on an exam to tell me my eyes are the same. I do get one every few years though, just not every year like they want you to (1 year prescriptions).
