Ok I'm not a coffee guy but my wife is. She has a french press I know but never uses it but says she likes it etc. Anywhom she likes dark roast coffee so I'm gonna order her some good fresh kind, but I dunno what kind of grind to get.

I want to get this coffee for use with her french press, so when ordering it do I go with the whole bean grind or the french press grind? I can't tell if the french press one means it has already been through a french press? If so I think I should get the whole bean so she can do it herself, but I dunno I could be wrong I know nothing about making coffee.

Get the french press grind. The french press is not a grinding method, but a brewing method. So if it's been through a french press already, then they're selling you used coffee :)

There is an optimal grind for each brewing method; obviously a grind called "french press grind" is best suited for use when brewing with a french press.

LOL

What a nice guy.

If you two already have a coffee grinder, get the whole bean. Otherwise, get the french press grind.
