Hello,

let's say I have double citizenship (Russian and American).

In Russia there's a law that everybody must attend Army, so if I'll go to Russia for a vacation , will they be able to make me go to Army or no ?

Thanks,
bye.

If you live in a country that you are a citizen of during the age of conscription then potentially yes. If you are above a certain age, then no. Contact the russian consulate for confirmation.

I am dual US/UK. When I took the oath of citizenship for the US I swore to forego allegiance to anyy foreign "government, prince or potentate". The U.S. consulate would probably protect you if Russia tried to force you into it during a vacation...

Check with them. We had a guy here who was Greek/US. He wouldn't vacation in Greece for fear of being conscripted. Then, he wanted to get married to a Greek woman who didn't want to leave Greece. He ended up cutting a deal with the Greek army to do 6 months of service.

It's great for recruiting. "Why, yes, everyone likes it here so much we've only had one person who left us to join the Greek army."

Friend of mine is a Korean citizen (Korean only - not US) and won't go back there because he knows as soon as he does it's off to boot camp.

Just buy a Russian doc a couple fifths of Vodka and have him sign something saying you aren't fit to go into the Army.. A Czech friend of mine does that every year, except giving the doc his choice of liquor. They never bother him when he goes back.
